I just received THE BEST update from my boy Roscoe. He is nearly eight-months old now. He has a wonderful new family who love him very much.
I LOVE YOU ROSCOE!
In case you're interested, here is his note.
Mommy...
How are you? I know it’s been a real long time since my last note, but I think of you, dad and my brothers and sisters often and I try to follow the blog when I can.
So much has been going on since my last letter that I won’t try to cover it all. But, just know that I’m healthy, happy and having a lot of fun with my new family. My two older sisters...Molly and Eliza...are really nice. Molly was at school in New York and now she’s in Maine for the summer, so I get to see her on weekends. Eliza is still in high school, so she’s around to play with in the evening.
Dad and mom are really nice too. They take me for lots of walks and stuff during the day. I get to ride in the car with dad a lot while he runs errands. I especially like to go with him to pick up Eliza from school if she needs to stay late. That’s when I get to see all her friends and show off what a handsome and talented dog I am! (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, mom!)
I really like it when we spend a lot of time at our house in Ogunquit, Maine. It has a wide-open back yard with a fence, so I can run as fast and just about as far as I can. I really love it when Dad throws a tennis ball for me to fetch...although he sometimes fakes it and I go running anyway. I need to teach him that it’s not as funny as he thinks.
I’ve been meeting all sorts of new dogs on my walks, and I like most of them. One dog...a black lab named “Bonzo”...ran up and really scared me while we were out walking one evening. Dad scooped me up in his arms and brought me home because I was shaking. I’ve since had more pleasant meetings with Bonzo, but I still don’t quite trust him. Most of my other friends are much nicer than Bonzo...and I like it that way.
The other thing about walks (especially in Maine) is that people almost always stop to say hello and ask about me...even if they don’t have a dog with them. The biggest question lately is, “is that one of those Portuguese Water Dogs?” I’m learning to be very patient, sitting proudly and saying calmly, “No, I’m a Tibetan Terrier thank you very much!”
I did meet another TT while on a walk in Ogunquit a week or so ago. She’s a black-and-white seven-year-old named “Spot.” She must’ve had spots when she was a puppy, because now that her hair is full length a better name would be “Streak.” But, she seemed nice, and her parents were SO excited to find another TT in the neighborhood that they told all their friends about me. Now, people stop and ask, “...is that Roscoe?” So I guess I’m getting a rep around town.
Well, that’s all for now. Please say hi to everyone for me!
Love,
Roscoe
